EVA-00 was originally orange. Its synchronization rate with Rei was low, causing it to go berserk, and it was replaced with light blue after its reconstruction. The color scheme MelGeek chose for its Rei Edition keyboard commemorating Evangelion's 30th anniversary is that second EVA-00's. The aluminum alloy case is dressed in the light blue and white of EVA-00's plugsuit, while south-facing RGB shines cold white from beneath the transparent PC keycaps, recreating Rei's characteristically cold and precise atmosphere.

South-facing RGB shines cold white from beneath the transparent PC keycaps, and an EVA-00-themed animation plays on the 1.78-inch OLED touchscreen in the upper right. When you open the box, it's hard to tell whether you're looking at a keyboard or a figure display.

I bought it for the design at first, but the moment I placed my fingers on it after it arrived, I realized that had been a prejudice. The combination of a solid aluminum body and a leaf spring gasket mount gives it a springy feel and a weighty bottom-out. Thanks to its in-house magnetic switches, the typing sound is clean, without unwanted noise.

If the Human Instrumentality Project was about melting every boundary and merging everything into one, this keyboard moves in the opposite direction. Its 0.1 mm Rapid Trigger draws the boundary between input and cancellation with extreme precision. Just as Rei, 30 years ago, was a being who understood that boundary exactly.
